Half God, Half Peacock!

Once upon a time in the land of vraja, Srimati Radha rani became very very angry with Krsna. She was so enraged that she went into isolation.
Krsna went in search of his lady love, only finding her alone in deep forests of Vrindavan. He immediately fell in feet of Srimati Radharani and started apologizing without even knowing what wrong he had done to her. Its said intelligent men never argue with women and immediately apologizes irrespective of the fact whether or not they are at mistake. Krsna was very intelligent and therefore following the age old principle he went on his knees in front of radha rani.
But this time Radha Rani, knowing the reputation and tactics of Krsna didn't yield, instead she started crying inconsolably.
Krsna again went, "Oh! Radha, I hate tears. Don't do this to me. Punish me if it pleases you...."
But Radha Rani was furious, "Oh! You rascal, get out from my sight. I don't want to talk to you, see you and even bear you near my vicinity. You keep breaking my heart over and over again. Go away. Go and play with your friends your beloved gopas and go and get on swings with your girlfriends, the gopis of vraja, why do you need poor radha for. She is no use to you."
And radha rani kept on weeping. All the ornaments on her body went lose and begin to fell on ground.
Krsna tried to charm her over and over again. Sometimes he went and brought her Champa and Jasmine flowers and made beautiful garlands out of it, which Radha rani refused to accept. Other time, he brought her lilies to put it in her hair but instead she opened her long locks so that no flower could stay in there. He even gave away his very dear flute and kept it in her feet but she was not ready to budge.
Every time he tried something he made her more furious and weepy than before.
Being an utter failure he couldn't think of a better plan to bring her out of her sulkiness. It was breaking his heart in million pieces seeing Radha Rani in such desolate condition.
For a while he too went away to think what he could do better. He was definitely not thinking to give up, may it take ethos of time to make her smile again.
Krsna was gone for a while now. Even though Radha rani was crying outwardly but in hearts of hearts it was giving her immense pleasure to have an undivided attention of the most popular boy of Vraj Bhoomi. But now when Krsna was away she felt more lonely and heart broken and it made her weep more. Rivers of tears were flowing from her eyes flooding the forests of Vrindavan.
Suddenly from her weepy eyes she saw an odd looking peacock dancing weirdly.
She rubbed her eyes to have a clear look at that creature.
Mama Mia! It was none other than Krsna disguised as peacock and coming dancing towards Radha rani.
The black blue boy of vraja borrowed feathers from the flock of peacock and pasted it on his body to charm the love of his life.
Radha rani couldn't control herself and burst into laughter. Her innocent child like laughter echoed in the vrindavan. She clapped and forgot that she was angry at Krsna.
Her sulkiness was broken. Earlier she was crying of anger, but now she was crying of laughter. Tears flowing from the outer corners of her eyes on her silky cheeks.
Eventually the beautiful Radha Rani soon joined her beloved in the peacock dance.
This is the Maan-Bhang Leela of sweet past times of srimati radha rani and krsna in the holy dham of vrindavan.
There is still present a temple called maan temple at holy dham of vrindavan that witnessed this leela.
krsna and radha rani dressed up like peacocks.
Happy birthday to Radha rani.
jai ho radha rani ki, jai vrindavaneshvari thakurani ki, jai ho hari priya maharani ki.
jai jai shree radhe!

one bucket list, two deaths and three horses

One bucket list.....
The other day I was talking to someone, telling them about my retirement plans and my bucket list. The person who I was talking to was taken aback and told me, doctor, you are too young to think about it. You still have plenty years to go thinking about it. Just enjoy the time of youthfulness rather doing what oldie, with one of their leg hanging in grave does.
Well that would have made sense taking in consideration of just one vector that's of my age. But we live life in dimensional units, so the blunder we do is missing on other vectors.
My bucket list came into such a scrutiny, was it a wrong assessment on my side to plan it soon and being so eager or there is something we all so conveniently blind our eyes too.
Two deaths.....
This man had a wonderful life till now, born in a rich family, running a successful business of his own, aristocratic friend circle, an extraordinary beautiful wife, two daughters and one son. Picture perfect fairy tale life till death took it away at thirty five.
(I am thirty one by the way)
Anyways coming back to his abrupt unfortunate end is that there was no trail of lurking medical history in the background.
Perfectly healthy life style which included regular morning walks and a good sleeping schedule. Nothing seemed out of the box. The night before he was talking to his acquaintance about their monthly party at Leela Palace, discussing minute details and next morning on his regular walk schedule felt little uncomfortable in his body. Instead of coming home straight, went to the hospital got his blood pressure and ECG checked and everything was just perfect like his perfect life. Doctors send him home, only to encounter his lifeless body half hour later.
Brain dead because of stroke. Some random clot just thought to go for a stall and got blocked in the thin vessel of brain, cutting away all the oxygen supply and rest it was matter of 8 seconds, he collapsed like the last autumn leaf on the tree.
The family was affluent, wife too young to be widowed and kids too small to be fatherless, therefore thought to fight death. Put the brain dead body on life support, shunted hospitals, and got pandits performing ritualistic sacrifices in hope that the body could breath again on its own.
Seven days of fight on the lost battle, ultimately the fire devoured what was remaining.
The man died with a last thought of party plan.

Well, this boy was twenty. Suffering from Azorian disease. It's a form of genetic disorder which manifest late in life like early teenage. He too manifested symptoms of it at the age of fourteen. It's a degenerative disease which effects all muscles and nerves of the body compromising it's basic functioning of locomotion, breathing, eating and talking. The person becomes bed ridden and is completely dependent on attendants to do the basic needful. The disease is a progressive type, without unknown aetiology that screwed the genetic material in first place. Medical science is still incompetent to find any breakthrough treatment in such cases.
The only silver lining in the darkest black clouds is that this disease doesn't effect the mental faculty and the people suffering from it are well oriented till their end, it's only the expressing faculty goes away. In language of shastras 'vak indriya' {sensory system} goes away but the 'Gyan indriya', mind, memory, intelligence and ego stays.
So even with their frailing body frame, their mind frame still works.
The parents were devestated in the beginning. It took lot of councilling to get them through it so that they could at least take care of their boy in his remaining life time. So they did.
They called their child Gopal.
In Hindu homes their is a tradition of bringing the deity of child form of krsna and he is served with lot of love and care. That deity is called Gopal.

So with selfless service they started to serve their Gopal. They knew they couldn't stop the inevitably death but at least they could do their best and leave rest to God. Since the child mental faculty was good, they took advantage of it and day in and day out they taught their Gopal the ultimate wisdom of life and it's ultimate truth, the Bhagvad Gita and Bhagvad katha.
Six years and they train their frail child for death. This summer the all devouring death took their Gopal away. The twenty year old boy who lost the faculty of speech died with the name of Narayan on his lips. He must have gone to Vaikuntha.{As told by his mother!}
In Bhagvad Gita, lord krsna says, that those who remembers me at the time of death reach my eternal abode. The boy with Azorian disease found his way to Vaikuntha. (Kuntha means anxieties, the place without anxieties is called Vaikuntha, the eternal abode of lord hari).
It's like Parakshith Maharaj, who was cursed to die in seven days. Instead of lamenting over the inevitable death which is going to come to all, he choose to hear Bhagvad Katha and cashed his curse to pave his way to eternal abode of the almighty God.

And finally the three horses...
Well these are the famous three horses of Gautam Buddha.
So this first horse that is born in a stable sees his surroundings and learn from it. He knows that he is born to serve humans and if he doesn't not follow the rules he is bound to suffer in the process of training which will include beating and fasting. So instead of resisting he is yielding and is saved from the subjective miseries. This horse is smartest and is a fast learner.
The second horse though born in the same environment thinks that he is special and he won't be subjected to such a treatment but when he sees his best friend going through it, it becomes an eye opener for him. So once reluctant horse becomes yielding to his master. This horse is a late bloomer but still he learns his lessons in due time and is saved to a maximum extent.
Well third horse was born with little puffed up wits and superiority complex that he was so obstinate to demands of his master. He thought what his brothers are going through, he will never go through it. But sooner his trance is also broken when he realized it was his own build illusion. He learns his lessons late but after lot of suffering.
Here is how Buddha used this analogy.
Birth, death, disease and old age are the natural laws of universe and they are inevitable. It's how smartly we deal with them is called the way of living.
Either we can be smart like the first horse and learn our lessons early so that we can surrender our life to service of our master, the almighty God, who will save us and deliver us out of this ocean of nescience or we can blunder like other two horses thinking ourselves to be special and thinking that old age, disease and death will never happen to us. But meanwhile being subjected to endless miseries of the world.
Well at the end of the day, man is what he choose to be.
So make a right call.

Finally, hence proved I am not wrong in making a bucket list for myself. Because every step we take, we are one step nearer to our death.

Regards
Hare krsna

emotional slutting v/s true love- the prism effect!

What is Love to you? When you approach people randomly asking this question, the first thing they give you is a startle expression as if you have asked them out of syllabus question and once the moment sponges in than they give you either a monochromatic answers naming their pet animals or love interest or parents, grandparents, siblings, etc, etc or they go prolific with quotes from intensive literature.
Well this can not get more complicated than it is and we end up on square one thinking again what the hell is Love or ever this true love thing does ever exit.....
I opened my Srimad Bhagvatam one day and stumbled over the Vedic light over the subjects. So here I am quoting from the purport of Canto1, Chapter 1, text 3 by His Divine Grace A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
"Every living entity, beginning from Brahma, the first-born living being within the material world, down to the insignificant ant, desires to relish some sort of taste derived from sense perceptions. These sensual pleasures are technically called rasas. Such rasa are of different varieties. In the revealed scriptures the following twelve varities of rasa are enumerated: 1) rudra (anger), 2) adbhuta (wonder), 3) srngara (conjugal love), 4) hasya (comedy), 5) vira (chivalry), 6) daya (mercy), 7) dasya (servitorship), 8) sakhya (fraternity), 9) bhayanaka (horror), 10) bibhatsa (shock), 11) santa (neutrality), 12) vatsalya (parenthood).
The sum total of all these rasas is called affection or love. Primarily, such signs of love are manifested in adoration, service, friendship, parental affection, and conjugal love. when these five are absent, love is present indirectly in anger, wonder, chivalry, fear, shock and so on. For example, when a man is in love with woman, the rasa is called conjugal love. But when such love affairs are disturbed there may be wonder, anger, shock or even horror. Sometimes love affairs between two persons culminate in ghastly murder scenes."
That's quiet intensive.
Well this is the way I understand it, it's like a prism being kept and the white light passing through it splits into different shades reflecting different moods of love that a person may feel. Not completely but a portion of it that is according to his taste or mood or pleasure. The scripture again describe this material world to be a "dukhalaya", the place of constant misery. What ever you do this material world is going to be the place of constant misery. So these pleasing looking so called shades of the love or rasa may cause repercussion later on for example betrayal, heart break, mistrust, misery and so on...
There is a medical perspective of these rasa too, repercussions in the form of diseases, like vatsalya or motherly affections is controlled by a a hormone prolactin. So this is the positive emotion, its good to have it more but medical book claims it to be inappropriate. Excess of this hormone prolactin can be because of pituitary tumors/ brain tumors. Which is not good and requires treatment and sometimes surgery too.
Getting excessively happy is also not good. Happiness is controlled by feel good neurotransmitter serotonin and in case serotonin rises bound high it can indicate to a cancerous growth in body in form of Carcinoid tumor.
Even in homoeopathy there is a medicine which has under it's pharmacological usage, affections caused due to excessive happiness, the name of the medicine is coffea cruda.
Even we can't afford excessive happiness in this world leave aside the indirect emotions of Love like anger, wonder fear and shock which disturbs the adrenal glands and the increase the production of non-epinephrine hormones which basically regulates the fight, fright and flight response in body making it susceptible to other bout of tumorous growth in body.
And talking of conjugal love going astray, it opens the box of Pandora of sexually transmitted disorders.
God, we have no peace in this material world, the place of misery, the dukhalaya!
This is not love, it's so called emotional slutting which we do to each other. The most legal emotional prostitution which we are subjected to and pleasure too and get addicted too. there is no ban on it. (Sorry for the language but I couldn't find a better vocabulary to put my point).
So hence proved that the true love doesn't exist in this material world.
Very true!
Than where can we find this entity called True Love.
For that we have to approach the spiritual realm, to go on other side of the prism, the side where there is white light. In fact we need to the prism out of the picture. We need to concentrate the white light instead of deciphering into different shades.
And who owns the single handed proprietorship of this mallows of love?
It is none other than Srimati Radha Rani. Even Krsna couldn't garner this amount of love and therefore he stole it from Srmati Radha Rani and distributed it to people of this world when he came as Yuga Avatar or the incarnation of this age, of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
What is this mallow of Love of Srimati radharani?
It is the concentrating Love more and more. It's like you take the mortar and pestle and keep on grinding it, making it more concentrated and refined at the same time.
When prema or Love is concentrated it becomes Sneha, affection.
The signs of affections is that the soul inside becomes so enlightened as if hundred and thousands lamp are burning inside. It's like the Gopis used to blame lord Brahma, the creator, for making blunders while creating them. He just gave them two eyes instead of thousand to use them to see Lord Krsna and than in those two eyes he created eyelashes which when bling occuludes their vision while watching Krsna. So these are some symptoms of sneha.
When sneha concentrates it becomes mana, when mana concentrates it becomes pranaya and when pranaya concentrate it becomes raga, further anuraga than bhava and the ultimate ecstasy mahabhava.
Well my understanding is very limited about this topic, hence to get the better understanding about it listen to the given link, a very interesting lecture by his divine grace srimad sri Gour Govind maharaj Swami who explains in detail the true constituents of true love.
And than you will understand the difference between emotional slutting and true love.
So when you learn to concentrate prema or love, you reach your actual destination where there is no fear no distress just pure ecstasy.
So it finally boils down to what you are in for?
Which side of the prism you choose?

the half promise!

Well there is lots of talk about couple goals and there is a lot of flash display of it on social networking sites like facebook, twitter and etc. And the movies like 'notebook' add the piquant flavor to it, to an extent that it sometimes become beyond god given human power to fulfill it. And sometimes those unfulfilled expectations end up in putting the climax curtains on once so cherished love.
How heart breaking it is? Is the world deprived of the rainbow shades? Is it a myth of stumbling over the bag of gold at the end of the rainbow? And when you start to believe that this world is nothing more than a field of masked faces, then sometimes you stumble over someone who makes you believe in fairy tales again.
When she stepped in my clinic she was an octogenarian widow with a big file of medical history. She had Diabetes, hypertension, increased cholesterol, osteo-arthritis, hyperacidity and hypothyroidism and few more acquaintance symptoms with the major ones and yet you can't miss her cheek to cheek smile peeping from her irregular orthodontics procedural teeth. Trust me, you can't ignore her smile and once you start to talk to her, you can't ignore her and end up signing up for her fan page.
She was widowed very young at the age of 31, most of us are not even married at this age, but there she was with the responsibility of three kids and no husband. I just asked her why didn't she consider re-marrying. {well, we are clan of homoeopathic doctors and it's are oath given right to poke in people's life, to help them with best possible treatment. And at same time we are sensitive to human emotions too, after all with power comes responsibility, we know that.}
So when I was asking her this, instead of getting angry, she blushed. Oh, My God! She blushed like a newly bride and said, "Oh! My husband was a very beautiful man and I swear, I couldn't find any man as beautiful than him....."
She was married at the age of sixteen to a man four years elder to him and with him she made three lovely kids before he deserted her in the fifteenth year of their betrothment in a freak electrocuted accident. Died on the spot.
I was audacious enough to ask her wasn't she angry from her men to leave her so soon and made her live the rest of her life in struggle to withhold the great responsibility of raising three more souls apart from her. Though I cited the question quintessential for her treatment plan but deep down I wanted to know, really really wanted to know. You see without exception, I too have been brought up in this 'expectation world'. Who so ever we meet we expect something from them.
To my surprise, she had no despise, not a single fretting wrinkle on her eyebrow.
"He took care of me for those fifteen years as if I was his queen. He protected me, loved me and respected me and my often childish demands too. Never he was angry at me and never did he raised voice at me, even when I was angry at him. He patiently waited for me to cool down and explained me everything. We didn't had that kind of money and facilities like today but I was still in the utmost luxuries of his love...."
"Was that enough for the life time?" I asked.
"Yes, it was enough. He kept his half promise till he breathed his last. That was uneventful that he had to go early. But that was not in his hand too. What's in my hand was to keep my part of the half promise and therefore till date I am doing that. And to do that I had to forgive him for his early departure...."
She was not remorseful and doesn't blame God for disaster of her life. She was still in love as she was when she was piggy tales teenager. She cherished it and did her part of duty. She was in bliss, the lovey-dovey bliss, definitely no one can miss that.
Well, I could have my awe moment with the fallen jaw, puppy dog eyes and hand on my heart but I had audience and a patient to treat. Therefore I skipped it but what I am not ready to skip is the lesson for life, "the half promise". I don't have her picture but i have her lesson imprinted on my cardiac apparatus {heart} for this life time though.
Expectations is a very crude word in this rude world. God has given us the power to keep and do our part of the job in the best possible way without thinking of the outcome or resultant quotient of profit. So what is in our hand is to keep our part of the promise, rest, I think is taken care of....
Are you ready to give your that half promise to someone because when you are going to do that, the world will magically change into the best place to be in.
your half and my half makes us complete!
Tag in your half promise people, they can be anyone, your parents, your siblings, your friends or your better halves.
So I ask you again are you ready, because I am ready too....

YOU CAN SELL SHIT, IF YOU HAVE WIT TO HIT EVEN THE MINUTEST BIT!

read it and i will prove it!
The optimism of Indian businessman dates long long back. Here is the anecdote to prove it.
The story goes back to mughal era, when Akbar was the ruling monarch and always on toes to expand his kingdom. In one of this pursuit he lost very badly in the battle which almost emptied his treasury.
Worried, he went to Birbal, his finest advisory of all, soughting out a relief plan. Birbal, after giving a thought, humbly advised him to go to the richest merchant of the kingdom, Mr Dhaniram for help.
Mr Dhaniram was the filthy rich man and possessed more money than royal treasury too. Akbar was curious to know how he did that. While going through Mr Dhaniram tax records and other official papers the administrative officer of the Akbar ministry found it to be’ kaala dhan’ or Black money or illicit money earned through slipping over taxes and fudging over the annual income records for years.
Well the king was furious but since Mr Dhaniram money came in as god send saviour for the kingdom, therefore king was mild in his punishment for Mr Dhaniram. Instead of putting him behind bars he put him in cows stable to work in knee deep dung.
And thereafter, king went back to his fighting ways for his kingdom expansion mission with new found finances. Three years later, the history repeated itself and king was bankrupt again. Helplessly he went to Birbal for advice but surprisingly he was again asked to sought help from Mr Dhaniram, who was spending days in cows stable.
Well taking Birbal advice seriously he went to meet Mr Dhaniram.
Surprise, Surprise in three years time Mr Dhaniram is richer than what he earlier was.
Akbar was like, how the hell man?
Well as the story goes, Mr Dhaniram smelled a lurking business in the cow dung stable in just week’s time. According to the Hindu scriptures, cow dung is considered pious and people used it for sweeping their houses, making fuel out of it and also for medicinal purpose too. So he started the dung for pennies business and those who couldn’t pay but in need of cow dung were allotted as the care taker of the stable and they provided sweeping facility in return of the dung. So he saved money that administration provided for care taking and appointing the employees, which he was already getting it done for free.
With that saved money he got good quality and quantity of fodder which improved the quality and quantity of milk supply almost to triple to the one it was once. The surplus milk from the milk revolution he created earned him more bucks and filled his accounts which were now overflowing with gold.
Akbar was furious but again went lenient as it was de- stressed money for his treasury and secondly Mr Dhaniram found a new avenue to generate money for his treasury.
This time he posted Mr Dhaniram at the sea side and his only business was to count the waves and keep their record according to time, date and climate, that set and the administration would pay him minimal expenses for his survival.
King went to his fighting ways and again as a fixed pattern lost everything. But instead of going to Birbal this time he went to his stable business which was generating gold under Dhaniram's time. Expecting great returns from there but king was disappointed. Instead of earning profit the business was going into ruins even though the cow stable makeover was nothing less than a luxurious palace in itself with state of art facade.
And as the vicious cycle he went to Birbal again only to be send to Dhaniram for the monetary help.
But this time Dhaniram was adamant only to help the king if he promises not to remove him from this post of his counting waves job.
The curiosity and the need both pushed Akbar to promise Dhaniram his wish and as another successful rag to riches story of Dhaniram made to daylight. While in the tide counting task he could see a burning business. He maintained the log of the high and low tides and from it deduce a perfect science that could help the navigators, merchants and fisherman in their daily business. He could rightly predict the best time of catching fishes and also when it is the possibility of the sea going rough. He was nothing less than a live weather department for the people whose living depended on sea. It earned him a name and a business of the advisory. No one in town took his ship or net in the sea without consulting him and in due time he was richer than ever he was. His popularity spread like a jungle fire and he was the most famous consultant of the country. Along with his due payments he was also showered gift from his merchant clients too.
Akbar was so highly impressed by his bone deep business sense that he made him the advisory in the financial sector and along with his wave counting business; he gave him back his cow dung selling business too.
Moral- roadblocks and calamities in our life are actually the key to grand success. So either YOU GET BREAK OR YOU GET A BREAK THROUGH, that entirely depends on you.
But as for now,

JAI HO INDIAN BUSINESSMAN KI!
Come what may, they will never be out of season.

Hare krsna!
